Transient Global Amnesia and Brain Tumour: Chance Concurrence or Aetiological Association? Case Report and Systematic Literature Review
We report a patient presenting with episodes of transient amnesia, some with features suggestive of transient global amnesia (TGA), and some more reminiscent of transient epileptic amnesia. Investigation with neuroimaging revealed an intrinsic lesion in the right amygdala, with features suggestive of low-grade neoplasia. We undertook a systematic review of the literature on TGA and brain tumour...
متن کاملMolecular Identification of Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) in Cervical Neoplasia and the Risk Factors Affecting Cervical Cancer in Isfahan
The rate of cervical cancer in Asians is deferent, based on the risk factors affecting and the rate of papiloma virus infection among females. Cervical cancer is one of the important cancers between Iranian women. In the present study the rate of cervical neoplasia was detected in Isfahan and some risk factors affecting the incidence of cervical cancer was analyzed. The human papiloma virus inf...

Introduction Human papillomavirus (HPV) is currently considered as the main aetiological factor of cervical cancer and its precursor cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). The integration of HPV DNA in the human genome is crucial for persistence of the virus and its carcinogenic eVects. Molecular mechanisms and cellular events associated with viral persistence are still poorly understood, al...

متن کاملDiagnosis and outcome of subcortical cystic leucomalacia.
Three children who had suffered prolonged hypotension or severe asphyxia and who subsequently developed cystic subcortical leucomalacia are reported. This condition fits into the spectrum of perinatal ischaemic brain disease but the diagnosis in life has not previously been reported. Aetiological factors and neurodevelopmental outcome, which was poor in all cases, are discussed.
